Upon returning from his journey to France, Tesch continued to explore the vast wonder that is London. He went out exploring most days on his own, taking in all that London has to offer and of course taking hundreds of wonderful pictures! In the evening we sampled the local cuisine…sometimes we went out for it, sometimes I tried my hand at making my best British attempt at the classics such as bangers and mash and sometimes we met some mates for dinner and drinks. Of course, we had him try several of the local flavors of pints along the way.
The following pictures are compliments of Tescher Photography (I couldn't resist showing off his amazing work!):

On Saturday we went out exploring London as a group and showed off Trafalagar Square and the National Gallery. This is a view and experience that has yet to get old for us. We’ve taken all of our visitors here and still gaze in awe at all of the amazing pieces of art. Whenever we’re in this part of the city we cannot resist a visit to Chinatown! We had an amazing lunch at one of the many restaurants in the area. We’ve yet to have a bad meal in this area and once again we were not disappointed! After lunch we headed to the train station for our big adventure to Hockley.
One of Jon’s workmates invited us all out to his home to have dinner and spend time with his family on Sat afternoon/evening. We took the train to Hockley and Jason picked us up at the train station around 4pm. We arrived at his house to meet his beautiful family. He and Sally have three children…Lucy, Ben and Toby. They live in a great area that is a block away from a huge park. We took a walk to explore the area and Tesch and Toby engaged in a thrilling round of see-saw! Back at the house we played some WI with the kids, chatted with the adults and had an amazing dinner of cottage pie, wine and pudding! After dinner, the kids went to bed and we played an intense game of horse racing (basically, pretend horse betting). Sally and I dominated the guys in this game for several rounds until finally we felt sorry for them and let them take the last round It was truly a great evening and we so enjoyed it! I think it was the highlight of the week for all of us!
Check out Toby's face!
The next morning Tesch got up early and went to explore Greenwich before our much anticipated Sunday Roast. We’ve found they take their Sunday Roast seriously here and we’ve become quite fond of it. We tried a new little restaurant on Bermondsey Street called Village East. It was delicious and it was a great top off to Tesch’s trip that was almost coming to an end.
I did say almost though…because we finished the day with a relaxing evening having a great market dinner at the flat. We picked up some fresh fish, dried meats and yummy cheese, I know I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again…one of our favorite ways to spend an evening!!
We really enjoyed our visit with Tesch and felt so honored he’d come to visit us during our stay in London. We look forward to another visit from him in Atlanta!
